In 2014, architectural studio 5468796 was engaged for the design of a garden shed, planned as part of a larger community garden development in the upcoming high-profile neighbourhood of East Village, near downtown Calgary. Though the project’s intended function was to house garden tools and supplies for the future members of the surrounding community, its completion revealed a markedly different design quality, one that has resulted in a true urban amenity for the area.
